Staff Sergeant – Agency One Land Detachment

Treaty Three Police Service is currently accepting applications for an Experienced Staff Sergeant to fill the position of Staff Sergeant – Agency One Land Detachment. The primary function of the Staff Sergeant is to direct and manage all aspects of the administrative and operational activities of the detachment.

Requirements/Duties:
• Ensures that tasks assigned by the Deputy Chief of Police are completed and carried out in a timely manner;
• Ensures that Detachment members carry out their duties and responsibilities effectively and efficiently;
• Able to analyze and establish operational needs within the detachment area;
• Adhering and familiar with current policies and procedures;
• Personnel records must indicate exemplary status with no form of discipline in the past two (2) years;
• Provide administrative and operational supervision to the Agency One Land Detachment and surrounding assigned communities;

Qualifications:
• Must have an Ontario Police College Certificate or equivalent recognized by the Ontario Police College
• Must have Staff Sergeant Credit
• No criminal record for which a records suspension (pardon) has not been received or an absolute/conditional discharge that has not been sealed
• Pass credit, background and investigation checks
• Disclose any McNeil Reports
• Valid CPR or First Aid Certificate
• Knowledge of First Nations, Provincial and Federal laws and statutes;
• Knowledge of Treaty Three Police Service structure and activities;
• Awareness of Indigenous culture and traditions;
• Excellent computer skills;
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal and public relations skills;
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills;
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
• Ability to problem solve and exercise good judgment during operational assignments;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Entry Level Rate: $64.01/hr, with potential progression to $75.07/hr
