Treaty Three Police Service Launches Crime Stoppers Community Sign Initiative

(Kenora) – Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS) is partnering with communities throughout Treaty #3 Territory to increase awareness of Crime Stoppers through the installation of new community signs encouraging anonymous reporting of crime and public safety concerns.
The signs serve as a visible reminder that community members can play an important role in helping keep their communities safe. Crime Stoppers provides a secure and anonymous way for individuals to share information that may assist law enforcement investigations or address ongoing community safety concerns.
T3PS recognizes that communities continue to face challenges related to drug activity, property crime, violence, trafficking, and other public safety issues. Information provided through Crime Stoppers can help law enforcement and partner agencies identify concerns, support investigations, and improve community safety outcomes.
“Public safety is strengthened when communities, law enforcement, and partner agencies work together,” said Chief of Police Cheryl Gervais. “These signs are intended to raise awareness about the anonymous reporting options available through Crime Stoppers and empower community members to share information that may help protect their families and communities.”

Treaty Three Police Service is a self-administered Policing entity under the First Nations Policing Program in Canada and is responsible for full policing duties in the greater Treaty #3 territory.
