Treaty Three Police Service Executes Two Successful Drug Investigations within Treaty #3 Territory

Kenora – The Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS) Street Crime Unit (SCU) has executed two successful investigations this month targeting the trafficking of controlled substances within Treaty #3 communities.

Wabigoon Lake First Nation Investigation

In September 2025, the Treaty Three Police Service Street Crime Unit initiated a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) trafficking investigation in Wabigoon Lake First Nation with assistance from the Dryden OPP Community Street Crime Unit.

On October 21, 2025, T3PS SCU executed a search warrant at a residence in the community with assistance from the T3PS Emergency Response Team and T3PS members.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of controlled substances and related property, with an estimated street value of approximately $24,000.

A 51-year-old male of Wabigoon First Nation and a 30-year-old female of Dryden were arrested in connection with this investigation.

Iskatewizaagegan #39 Investigation

On October 13, 2025, T3PS Street Crime Unit conducted a proactive traffic stop on Highway 673 as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking within Treaty #3 territory.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine and crack cocaine.

A 36-year-old female and a 41-year-old male, both residents of Iskatewizaagegan #39, have been charged under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Trafficking in a Controlled Substance).

Both individuals were released pending future court appearances.
