Treaty Three Police Service Charges Male Following Firearm Investigation in Iskatewizaagegan No. 39 (Shoal Lake #39 First Nation)
(KENORA) – On July 11, 2026, uniform members of the Treaty Three Police Service responded to a report of a male in the community who was allegedly in possession of a loaded firearm. Officers attended the area and initiated an investigation into the incident.
As the investigation progressed, members of the T3PS Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in Iskatewizaagegan No. 39 on July 15, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, officers seized a firearm and arrested a 52-year-old male.
The accused has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, contrary to Section 86(1)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, contrary to Section 91(1)
- Pointing a Firearm, contrary to Section 87
The accused was released from custody on condition and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in October 2026.
