Treaty Three Police Execute Drug Search Warrant in Couchiching First Nation

(Agency One Lands) – On May 26, 2026, members of the Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS), with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Fort Frances Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Kenora CSCU, Dryden CSCU, Kenora Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), and OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB), executed a Section 11 Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence located in Couchiching First Nation.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old male resident of Couchiching First Nation was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking – Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – Section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order x3 – Section 117.01(1) Criminal Code
  • Breach of Recognizance – Section 811 Criminal Code
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm x3 – Section 86(1) Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – Section 88 Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Section 91(1) Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon – Section 91(2) Criminal Code
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Section 92(1) Criminal Code

Police seized approximately 110 grams of cocaine, Canadian currency, firearms, weapons, and drug trafficking paraphernalia as part of the investigation.
