Wellness Clinician
Treaty Three Police Services is seeking a dedicated professional for a Permanent Full-Time Wellness Clinician position to manage the mental and emotional wellbeing of our members including facilitating training, counseling, critical incident debriefs and ensuring compliance with IPCO Mental Health Review. This position is dedicated to the wellness of members and members’ families.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Offer individual counseling and crisis intervention for members dealing with mental health issues, trauma, and addictions
- Design and lead wellness initiatives, including stress management workshops and mental health awareness campaigns
- Regularly reach out to members to ensure they have access to necessary wellness resources and support
- Collaborate with internal wellness teams, peer support groups, operational cultural coordinator and external service providers to support member wellness
- Ensure wellness services adhere to mental health regulations and evaluate the effectiveness of wellness programs
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Training:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related mental health field
- Licensed as a Registered Social Worker (RSWW) or Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario, or equivalent certification for providing clinician services
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in providing counseling services or mental health support, including crisis intervention, individual therapy, and case management
- Experience in working with law enforcement, first responders or other public safety sectors is preferred
- Experience in mental health, addictions and trauma-related counseling is essential
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Valid G Ontario drivers license
- Be of good moral character with no criminal record for which a record; suspension (pardon) has not been received or an absolute/conditional discharge that has not been sealed.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- High level of cultural competency, with an understanding of the unique needs of law enforcement personnel and their families.
- Ability to work independently and manage confidential case files in compliance with professional standards
- Knowledge and understanding of Treaty Three community languages, culture, traditions with a high sensitivity to aboriginal issues.
Entry Level Rate $54.56 hr, with potential for progression to $67.29 /hr
