Executive Assistant (3 Year Term)
Treaty Three Police Service is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to assist the organization in successfully meeting their mandate and mission statement. The Executive Assistant’s primary function is to assist with the administration of the day to day operations of the Chief of Police. The Executive Assistant will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks for the Chief of Police and will be able to work independently with little supervision. The ideal candidate for this role must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative opportunities of supporting the Chief of Police and other staff as directed by Chief of Police.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Maintaining electronic and manual filing system for General Headquarters;
•Drafting and/distributing correspondence as required by Chief of Police;
•Opening incoming correspondence and distribute as required;
•Coordinating the Chief of Police’s appointment schedule;
•Attending meetings with Chief of Police as required;
•Provide support to the Deputy Chief of Police and Director of Corporate Services
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Training:
•Proficient with computers and related software MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
•Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
•Valid Ontario drivers license;
•Be of good moral character with no criminal record for which a records; suspension (pardon) has not been received or an absolute/conditional discharge that has not been sealed;
•Previous work in courts/law enforcement would be an asset;
•Excellent verbal and listening skills including:
o Speaking clearly with proper volume and tone emphasis and in a confident manner in all situations including when speaking in front of a group or audience;
o Giving concise, understandable, accurate directions/instruction;
o Listening carefully for total meaning;
o Courteous, polite, and positive.
•Excellent analytical and organizational skills;
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
•Ability to problem solve and exercise good judgment and cope in difficult situations;
•Ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
•Advanced computer skills including expertise on related software MS Office – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint is required;
•Organization and time management skills, including ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
•A high degree of professionalism and awareness to Indigenous culture and traditions.
Entry Level Rate $30.80/hr, with potential for progression to $35.21/hr
