Break and Enter Investigation Leads to Drug Seizure and Arrests in Couchiching

Couchiching First Nation – On the evening of Sunday, August 10, 2025, Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS) officers responded to a report of a break and enter in Couchiching First Nation. Upon arrival, officers initiated an investigation which led to the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and cash.
Following initial inquiries at the scene, a search incident to arrest was conducted. Officers located and seized the following:
- 191.82 grams of suspected cocaine
- $5,200 in Canadian currency
The following are facing multiple charges related to this incident:
- 36-year-old female from Fort Frances

- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Unlawfully in Dwelling House
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 in Canada
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Trespassing at Night
- Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- 46-year-old male from Couchiching

- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Unlawfully in Dwelling House
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Failure to comply with undertaking X2
- Trespassing at Night
- Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- 54-year-old female from Thunder Bay

- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine X2
- 50-year-old male from Thunder Bay

- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine X2
- 38-year-old male from Toronto

- Failure to Comply with Undertaking
The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the T3PS Street Crime Unit and members of the Fort Frances Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
“The cooperative effort between T3PS units and the OPP in this case highlights the commitment of our officers to protect our communities from the harms of illicit drugs,” said Staff Sergeant John Reppard.
